What It Means to Be a Travel Storyteller
As a Travel Storyteller, your job is to play an engaging host to IOJ guests, with a goal of leaving them feeling like they’ve learned something new, connected more deeply to the destination, and excited to tell people about their time with you. This means:
Connecting history with contemporary life by combining local knowledge with your lived experience
Sharing personal perspectives, stories, and tips that help guests feel immersed in Japan through the eyes of a local
Adapting your approach to each group’s unique curiosity and pace, personalizing each tour to the best of your ability
Representing Japan and IOJ with professionalism and warmth
